Funeral services for Vandell Smith, Sr., 81, of Jena, will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, January 22, 2022 in the Johnson Temple C.O.G.I.C of Leesville with Supt. Maurice Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in the Leesville Memorial Cemetery in Leesville.
Vandell was born on November 3, 1940 in Chicago, Illinois to his parents, Herman & Adis Rock Smith. He passed away on Wednesday, January 12, 2022 in Alexandria.
Left to cherish his memory is his sons; Vandell Smith, Jr., of Jena, La, Edward Smith of Baker, La, Kenda Smith of New Orleans, La, Herman Smith of Houston, Tx, daughters; Cynthia Smith, Vanessa Smith both of Baton Rouge, La, Kofine Smith of Houston, Tx, Fanta Smith of Phoenix, Az, Tryna Smith of Baton Rouge, La, brothers; Leroy Zeno, Clarence Eddie Zeno both of Leesville, La, Shelton Smith of Merryville, La, sisters; Barbara Williams of Killeen, Tx, Bobbie Cole of Leesville, La, Joyce Atwater of Natchitoches, La, Dorothy Mae Zeno of Leesville, La, nine grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
