Sidney Buford Norris' Obituary
Funeral services for Sidney Buford Norris, 86, of Leesville, LA will be held Monday, May 17, 2010 at 10:00 A.M. at Labby Memorial Funeral Home in Leesville, with Rev. Jerry Penfield and Rev. Wallace Palmer officiating. Burial will follow in the Forest Lawn Cemetery in Leesville. Visitation will be Sunday, May 16th from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. and on Monday, May 17th from 8:00 A.M. until time of service at the funeral home. Services are under the direction of the Labby Memorial Funeral Home.
Sidney, the son of Math and Annie Stewart Norris was born on October 6, 1923 in Beulah Community, LA. He passed away on Friday, May 14, 2010, at his residence in Leesville, LA.
Sidney served in the US Army and was a World War II Veteran. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Leesville and he retired form the US Corp of Engineers.
He was preceded in death by parents, 9 brothers and sisters and two grandchildren.
He is survived by wife of 27 years, Joy Ann Scogin Dean Norris of Leesville; three children, Becky (husband, Leonard) Watts of Allen, TX, Vicki Wells of McKinney, TX and Stephen (wife, Lizzie) Norris of Littleton, CO; Two step children, Debbie Jenkins of Cache, OK and Donny (wife, Dodi) Dean of Suwanee, GA; Numerous Grandchildren, great Grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
The family request that memorial donation be made to the First Baptist Church Building Fund in Leesville.
