My Uncle Pinkus was a legend around Hornbeck, La. I guess that every one that grew up in the 50's - to present has known him at one time or another. He was well know for his making stone ground cornmeal and for being seen numerous times a day as he grew older in all the litte cafe's and coffe shops that came and went in Hornbeck. God Bless him and his Son Donald and Daughter in law Connie Spears, because they were ever vigilant in doing every thing humanly possible for Mr. Spears in his many days of sickness. He is gone now but not forgotten for his familiar face around Hornbeck for so many years. Rest in Peace Unkle Pinkus.
