So sad to hear of Mickey's passing. My thoughts & prayers are with you.\r\nJanene-'63 classmate & good friend
Our thoughts and prayers are with your family. I went to AHS from 1992-1996 where I graduated from. Coach was a wonderful man and had a great sense of humor. I loved to watch him coach in a game because you could just see how passionate he was for the game. I can remember him coaching from back in the early 80's as well because my cousin played for the Lady Indians and I had the privlege of at that time to watch him coach. He will be deeply missed by everyone whom he touched their lives. Our thougts and prayers will remain with you and your family through this trying time. God Bless you all.
Mike I so many great memories of your dad. He was a fun teacher to have. He was a very out going person. You and your family are in my prays. May God Bless you. \r\n \r\nAlways Kate Jordan
Most think a basketball coach’s contribution to a young man’s life is confined to a jump shot or perhaps a crossover dribble. Coach Goins taught me many things more things other than basketball. Such things as character and perseverance will always stand out to me. I remember many heated moments when Coach wasn’t pleased with the team’s play, but I also remember a gentle man who sought out ways to teach us. I will always cherish those memories and hold fast to the lessons learned.\r\n\r\nI pray that the peace of Christ comforts Coach Goins' family during this time. He will surely be missed.
Gayle and I were saddened at the news of Mickey's passing. We know how special he was; he'll be missed by many family members and friends.\r\n \r\nOur thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time of loss. We will remember him fondly.\r\n\r\nOur love, \r\nLisa and Gayle
Coach Goins touched many young peoples lives through the teaching of basketball. Many young men have came out of Anacoco High School being better people because of things Coach Goins instilled into them as athletes and as people in general and that is what made him so special. My family's prayers are with your family in this time of sorrow. We will never forget Coach Goins.
I'm so sorry to hear of Coach Goins' death. I would get so tickled at him getting so red in the face while coaching. I always had great respect for Coach and got to know him better by playing golf with him on several occasions at Emerald Hills. My sympathy to Mike and all the Goins family.
