Louvenia "Mama Caze" LaCaze's Obituary
Funeral services for Louvenia “Mama Caze” LaCaze, 101, of Hicks will be held Thursday, January 4, 2018, at 2 pm at the Hicks United Pentecostal Church in Hick, LA. Burial will follow in the Hicks Cemetery, under the direction of Labby Memorial Funeral Home of Leesville.
Visitation will be Wednesday, January 3, 2018 from 5:00 pm until 10:00 pm and Thursday January 4, 2018 from 10:00 am until time of service, at the church.
Louvenia, the daughter of William and Lennie Hall Walker, was born on November 26 ,1916 in Hicks, Louisiana. She passed away on Tuesday, January 2, 2018, in Leesville, Louisiana.
She was a welder in a shipyard in Orange, TX during WWII. She loved to fish and she gardened until she was 100 yrs old. “Mama Caze” was a foster parent to over 70 children. She lived for the Lord, and was a member of the Pentecostal Church for over 85 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; G.L. LaCaze, siblings; Mervis Walker, Johnnie Brown, Wayburn Walker, and 3 great grandchildren.
She is survived by her daughter; Lennie Faye Pourtea (Johnny) of Hicks, LA., grandchildren; Carlotta Eubanks (Danny) of Many, LA., Dyarell Davis (Wanda) of Hicks, LA., Kynell Davis of Hicks, LA., Kenneth Wiggins (Sandy) of Many, LA., Kleve Wiggins (Roxanna) of Pitkin, LA., 7 great grandchildren, 14 great-great grandchildren and 2 great-great-great grandchildren.
