Leroy B. Sanders' Obituary
United States Military Command Sargent Major Leroy B. Sanders was born on June 29, 1930. He respectfully passed away at his proud home with his two grandchildren with him when he went to be with our Lord and his wife.
CSM Sanders was a loving father, husband and grandfather who was very fond of politics, history, football, gardening and his dogs. He was a very active and a lifelong member of VFW and American Legion. CSM Sanders served in the Navy and then the Army after Korea and two tours of Vietnam, retiring in 1974 after 30 years serving for his country until he passed. After his retirement, he was an education counselor on base until 1987 to provide support for his soldiers. CSM Sanders also has a MBA from Northwestern State University in General Education Studies. If you ever met him, you didn’t leave without a smile.
Leroy is preceded in death by his loving wife of 66 years Maria Sanders and their son Robert Sanders.
Left to cherish his respected memory is his grandson Robert Jacob Sanders, granddaughter Kimberly Sanders Allen, great grandchildren Alexis Allen, Anna Maria August Sanders, Beckett June Sanders all from Texas.
The family would love to express special appreciation and thank you to Joy Roberts, Lonnie Purdue and Cassandria Fortenberry.
Graveside services will be held on Friday, March 27, 2026 at 9:00 A.M. at the Central Louisiana Veterans Cemetery in Leesville.
