Dr. Monk was a very outgoing person. Working for him was great. He could always make you smile and he could also scare you by hitting on the front counter at the school. It's hard to believe he is no longer with us. He liked to tell you all kinds of stories. Whenever we would sit outside and talk we would talk about fishing.. Monday I was talking to him outside the school and I will never forget what he told me.. He always wanted someone to better themselves. He wouldn't stop anyone from that.. I will miss him. Jeff, I am so sorry for your family's loss. Your Dad was very well thought of. My sister and brother-in-law both have known him for years (they work in the school system.) And I took one of his classes at Fort Polk several years ago. Please know that I'll keep you and your family in my prayers. I am truly saddened to hear of the loss of such a wonderful educator. Mr. Monk taught me General Business some 30 years ago and is one of those rare teachers that you never forget and always speak of with the utmost admiration. His class is among my fondest memories of high school. I am sure he touched the lives of countless young people, as he did mine and he will be terribly missed.\r\n\r\nMy prayers go out to the Monk family.
