My memory of Gene were in our school days at Hicks High. I was an 8th grader and he a senior as I recall. He would take the time to talk to me about basketball encouraging me to go out for the team. To have a senior talking to an 8th grader was impressive and especially a senior of his status. I know his memories will live on and the family will find peace in how he lived..
Gene was a wonderful neighbor to me and I will miss him dearly. He was filled with interesting stories, wonderful surprises, and a knack for being able to do just about anything. I pray your memories bring you comfort and peace.
