Funeral services for Jewel Phillips, 69, of DeRidder will be Wednesday, August 24, 2016 at 11 am in the Labby Memorial Funeral Home Chapel in DeRidder. The burial will follow in the Beauregard Cemetery, under the direction of the Labby Memorial Funeral Home in DeRidder.
Jewel, the daughter of Elijah and Charlsie Burge Fowler, was born Dec. 14, 1946 in DeRidder, LA. She passed away Saturday, August 20th, in Rosepine.
She was a homemaker she loved to do arts and craft, garden and sing gospel music, she also was an awesome seamstress, Jewel attended the Church of the Nazarene in DeRidder. She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Mark Phillips; daughter, Emma Ryder; brothers, Freddie and Terry Fowler.
She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Bennie W. Phillips; sons, Lloyd Phillips of DeRidder, LA and Darrell Phillips of Sulphur, LA; daughter, Frances Pruitt; brothers, William “Bill” Fowler and David Fowler; Sisters, Margaret Phillips, Lucy Johnson, Irene Ratcliff all of DeRidder, LA and Debbie Garcia of Kansas; 10 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
