James Russell Perkins' Obituary
Funeral services for James Russell Perkins, 84 of Leesville, Louisiana will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, April 9, 2011, at Labby Memorial Funeral Home in Leesville with Rev. LeRoy Kipp officiating. Masonic services will be held under the direction of Lockey Hicks, (DDGM). Burial will follow in the Plunkaway Cemetery in Burr Ferry, LA, under the direction of Labby Memorial Funeral Home of Leesville.
Visitation will be held from 5 pm - 7 pm, Friday, April 8, 2011, and on Saturday, April 9th from 1:00 p.m. until time of service at the funeral home.
James, the son of Henry Alfred and Ollie Jane Russell Perkins was born on April 11, 1926, in Leesville, Louisiana. He passed away on Monday, April 4, 2011, at the Doctors Hospital in Leesville, LA. Mr. Perkins was an avid hunter & fisherman with his sons. He was a steelman/operator for Texaco for 38 years.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Joseph Homer Perkins and his sisters, Lela Exie Perkins and Mary Ellen Perkins.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Rosemary Perkins of Leesville, LA; sons, Pruitt & Susie Perkins of Orangefield, TX & James A. Perkins of Leesville, LA and grandson, Taylor James Perkins of Oragefield, TX.
