It is with heavy hearts and profound gratitude for a life well-lived that we announce the passing of Glenda Sue Pilcher, a cherished wife, devoted mother, and beloved grandmother. Glenda peacefully departed this world, surrounded by the love of her family, on March 19, 2026, in Alexandria, Louisiana. Born on January 14, 1959, in Fort Worth, Texas, Glenda spent her 67 years on this Earth embodying the virtues of love, compassion, and selflessness.
The daughter of the late Alford White and Josephine Dunnam White, Glenda was raised in a family where love and resilience were cornerstones. She carried these values throughout her life, touching the lives of everyone she met. Preceded in death by her son, Justin Pilcher; her father, Alford White; her mother, Josephine White; her sister, Barbara Ann Bolton; and her brother, Ronald "Bull" White, step-mother, Faye Hart White. Glenda's legacy of love and determination lives on through her surviving family members.
Glenda is survived by her devoted husband of 47 beautiful years, Jimmy Pilcher, with whom she built a life filled with warmth and joy in Pineville, LA. Together, they raised their daughter, Gwen Lachney, who resides in Pineville, LA. Glenda was a proud grandmother to Dave Paul Lachney and his wife, Ashley of Pollock, LA, and Logan Lachney of Centerpoint, LA, and a doting great-grandmother to Jaden Lachney and Noah Lachney, who brought her immense joy and pride. Her brother, Ronnie White, and his wife, Deanna, of Missouri; her sister, Angie Champagne, and her husband, Louis, of Columbia, LA; step-brother, Marty Hart and his wife, Sharon, of Kelly, LA; step-sister, Debbie D’Augereaux and her husband Marlin, of Breaux Bridge, LA; and a host of nephews and nieces who adored her. Her family was the center of her world, and she dedicated her life to their happiness and well-being.
Glenda will be remembered as a loving, compassionate, and caring individual whose strength and determination were an inspiration to all who knew her. She was a gifted cook, and her home was always open to family and friends, filled with laughter, warmth, and the comforting aroma of her culinary creations. Her ability to maintain a spotless home while ensuring her children's needs were always met was nothing short of remarkable.
In addition to nurturing her family, Glenda dedicated her time to honoring the memory of her son, Justin, who was taken too soon. Her unwavering love and commitment to his memory were a testament to her enduring strength and grace.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Christus Cabrini Hospice, Dr. Ryder, and the staff on the 5th floor for their compassionate care and support during Glenda's final day.
A graveside memorial to celebrate Glenda's life will be held on March 24, 2026, at 5:00 PM at Longview Cemetery, located on LA 1207, Deville, LA 71328. Family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance of Glenda's remarkable life and to honor the indelible mark she left on all who were fortunate to know her.
Glenda Sue Pilcher will forever be remembered as a beacon of love, a pillar of strength, and a guiding light in the lives of those she cherished. Her spirit will live on in the hearts of her family and friends, and she will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
