Glen Teddie "Ted" Allen's Obituary
Funeral services for Glen Teddie “Ted” Allen, 58, of Dry Creek, Louisiana will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 25, 2010 at Dry Creek Baptist Church in Dry Creek, Louisiana with Bro. Curt Iles, Bro. Bruce Butts and Bro. Charlie Bailey officiating. Burial will follow in the Dry Creek Cemetery in Dry Creek, Louisiana under the direction of Labby Memorial Funeral Home of DeRidder.
Visitation will be held from 5 pm - 9 pm, Friday, September 24, 2010, and Saturday, September 25, 2010 from 9:30 am until service time at the church.
Ted, the son of Floyd Coates Allen, Jr., and Margie Allen was born on September 19, 1952, in Lake Charles, Louisiana. He went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, September 22, 2010 in his residence.
Mr. Allen graduated from Vinton High School in 1970 and was a 1972 graduate of McNeese. He worked for Conoco for 32 years; Secretary Treasurer of OCAW, Local 4-500, Rescue Team, Caps, Joint Health & Safety. He was a member of Dry Creek Baptist Church where he was a Deacon and sang in the choir. He loved to fish & hunt. His girls Veronica and Marcie and granddaughter Felicity were the apples of his eye. He was a man of character and integrity.
He was preceded in death by his father; two brothers-in-law; one sister-in-law and two nieces.
He is survived by his wife of 37 years Mary Yeates Allen of Dry Creek; daughters, Veronica Allen of Dry Creek & Marcie Allen Dobbs & husband, Chris (whom he considered a son) of Duson; mother, Margie Mae Allen of Dry Creek; twin brother, Floyd Eddie Allen of Dry Creek; sisters Jerrie Rae Young (husband, Oris) of Lake Charles & Barbara Barton of Lafayette and one granddaughter, Felicity Grace Breaux. In addition he is survived by 28 nieces & nephews.
