Frances Sandel Dowden's Obituary
Funeral services for Mrs. Frances Sandel Dowden will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, February 11, 2013 in the Gum Springs Baptist Church with her grandson Jacob Hilton officiating. Burial will follow in the Gum Springs Cemetery under the direction of the Labby Memorial Funeral Home of Leesville.
Visitation will be begin at 5:00 p.m. Sunday, February 10, 2013 and will continue until service time Monday in the church.
Mrs. Dowden was born April, 28, 1932 in the Sandel Community. She worked for many years as the Manager of the gift shop at Hodges Gardens. She was a member of Gum Springs Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband: Billie Dowden.
Mrs. Dowden is survived by: Son: Steven Dowden of Hornbeck, La.; Daughter and Sons in law: Brenda & Doug Hilton of Hornbeck, Rita & Nickey Hilton of Hornbeck; One Brother: DeWayne & Sue Sandel of Florien; One Sister: Lucille Dowden of Hornbeck; 6 grandchildren: Jason & Jeanette Hilton, Amy & Michael Lightsey, Jeremy & Lindsay Hilton, Jacob & Kaci Hilton, Aaron & Ashley Dowden, Whitley & Blake Bowling; Eleven Great Grandchildren: Joey Hilton, Gavin Lightsey, Noah Lightsey, Ryleigh Hilton, Madison Dowden, Madex Dowden, Ace Bowling, Bree Dowden, Brit Dowden, Emerson Bowling, Porter Hilton, and One on the way:
