Billy Wayne Brooks' Obituary
Funeral services for Mr. Billy Wayne Brooks, 77, of Leesville will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 23, 2019 in the East Leesville United Pentecostal Church in Leesville with Rev. Wesley Manning officiating.
Visitation will be Tuesday, January 22, 2019 from 5:00 – 9:00 p.m., and on Wednesday, January 23, from 11:00 a.m. until service time in the Church.
Billy was born on March 13, 1941 in Hineston, Louisiana to his parents William & Mildred Morrison Brooks. He entered his eternal rest on Sunday, January 20, 2019 at his home in Leesville with his family at his side.
He was a man who enjoyed the simple things in life. For over 33 years he worked as a Conductor for the KCS Railroad, and after retirement, spent many years taking care of people at Imperial Hardware Store in Leesville. He never met a stranger. He was a member of the East Leesville United Pentecostal Church and was a true Christian in every sense, always willing to give to anyone in need. He was a one of a kind Daddy and family man, and he will be missed by many.
Mr. Brooks is survived by his wife of 55 ½ years: Norma Brown Brooks of Leesville; Three Daughters: Tamala Brooks of Leesville, Monica Matthai of Slagle, and Darla Brooks of LaCamp; Three Brothers: Charles Brooks of Leesville, Bruce Brooks of Leesville, and Buddy Bailey Brooks of Lake Charles; Three Sisters: Dorothy Dousay of LaCamp, Connie Campbell of Pineville, and Jeanine Brooks of Leesville; Five Grandchildren: Cassandra Jeane Cooper, Skyler Wayne Van Patten, Kristina Marie Matthai, Dalton Wayne (Emily) Matthai, James Wayne McMillan, and Allen Wayne Ross, One Great Grandchild: Chase Cooper, and one on the way due in August.
