I Love You to the Moon and Back!
Many know how my pawpaw and my mother butted heads so many times, but I wanted to share a poem she wrote for him, and a photo that means the absolute world to me!!!
"Your Eternal Flight"
Of all the people I met through my walk in this life,
I appreciated you most of all.
You were the one, who stepped up and caught, my mom before the fall.
My mom, she was a good one, but I challenged her at every turn. But your callous ways were what I needed, no matter how strong or stern!
I don't regret things in my life, for they made me who I am. But you taught me how to be, Strong, Stubborn, with a Resolve like no man!
For these things, however late, I THANK YOU from my heart.
I just wish I could have told you, before your Eternal journey did start.
Mom, Megan and many more, will greet you with open arms. And I am sure that your smile will light up Heaven, like on earth with all your charm!
God's speed, my dear Phillip-- Home is where you are going--
And with God's promise to meet again-- my heart is overflowing!
My love to you and all of those, with whom you will reunite...
I send it now, on the wings of Angels, with whom you take your flight!

Wish we had more time together!! I will always remember pineapple pudding for the holidays!

He took me fishing one time, years after his knees made it too hard to get in and out of the boat, but he took me anyways. We loaded the boat up and went out on the lake together. He was so happy. He showed me where all of his favorite spots were. It was one of the best days of my life. Ill never forget the effort it took for him to make that memory with me.
My paw paw taught me how to plant tomatoes and squash. He was too old to bend down and put the plants in the ground so I would go out with him and do the planting while he watched over me and gave me instructions on how to do it properly. He would mark the spots and make holes for me with a hoe handle. My Paw paw just had a way of making things grow.
I loved my PawPaw so much. The way he said "I love you too" keeps echoing through my mind. I'll never forget it, and ill never forget you PawPaw.
