Alison McRae Morgan's Obituary
Funeral services for Alison McRae Morgan, 50, of Simpson, Louisiana will be held at 3:00 p.m. Friday, March 21, 2014, at Simpson Baptist Church with Rev. Jeremy Blocker officiating. Burial will follow in the Welcome Cemetery, under the direction of Labby Memorial Funeral Home of Leesville.
Visitation will be held Thursday, March 20th from 6 p.m. until 9:00 p.m., and on Friday, March 21st, from 8:00 a.m. until service time in the church.
Alison, the daughter of Wallace and Jimmy Smith McRae was born August 25, 1963, in Alexandria, LA. She passed away Wednesday, March 19th, in Alexandria.
Alison graduated from Simpson High School. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree from LSU and her Master’s from Northwestern. She also earned her +30 certification from Northwestern State University. Alison was a teacher in Vernon Parish for twenty six years and a coach for seven years. During her coaching, she earned coach of the year title twice and led her softball team to the State Finals seven years and won the State Championship three years.
She was preceded in death by grandparents, Nuell & Eloise Smith and F.C. & Nora Ethene McRae.
She is survived by her husband of twenty three years, Jeff Morgan; sons, Zachary and Reese Morgan; daughter, Jennifer Morgan Reyes & husband, Miguel; grandsons, Michael, Victor & Alberto Reyes; parents, Wallace & Jimmy McRae; sister, Amy Dalme & husband, Alton; nephews, Jacob & Heath Dalme & Dakota Hayes; niece, Shelly Hayes; father & mother-in-law, Charles & Mary Morgan; sister-in-law, Angela Morgan Hayes; lots of family, friends and former and present students.
