Willie Joe Edwards, Jr.'s Obituary
Graveside services for Willie Joe Edwards Jr., 56, of Leesville, will be held at 12:00 P.M. on Saturday, May 30, 2020 in the Garden of Memories Cemetery in Leesville.
Visitation will be held Friday, May 29, 2020, from 6:00 P.M until 8:00 P.M. in the Labby Memorial Funeral Home Chapel
Willie Joe Edwards Jr., affectionately called “Man”, departed this life on Wednesday, May, 20, 2020, at his home in Faribault, MN.
Willie Jr. was born on August 1, 1963 to Mr. Willie J. Edwards Sr. and Mrs. Loretta Dean Edwards, in Leesville, LA. He was formally educated in the Vernon Parish School System. He graduated from Leesville High School with the Class of 1982. After Graduation, he attended Lamar Salter Technical College, now known as CLTCC. Upon completion of classes, he received a certificate in welding.
Willie Jr. was employed at McDonalds in the early 80’s and worked until he decided to relocate to Minnesota in the mid 90’s. Once there, he was employed by McLane as a forklift operator until his passing. Willie Jr. is preceded in death by his parents, Mr. Willie Joe Edwards and Mrs. Loretta Edwards, and his son Dylan Scott.
Willie Jr. leaves to cherish his memories, two daughters: Shanari Burns of Faribault, MN and Morgan Edwards of Waseca, MN, one Brother: Derrick Edwards Sr.(Lottie Elmore) of Owatonna, MN, three sisters: Deborah Edwards of Leesville, LA, Jacqueline Edwards Langston of Leesville, LA and Letitia Edwards McKenzie (Johnny) of Pachuta, MS, one aunt: Betty Jenkins of Atlanta, GA, five nieces: Evelyn Edwards Collier (Jerald) of San Diego, CA, Eden Edwards Barker (Kendrick) of Allen, TX, Fanta Langston Smith (Anthony Sr.) of Richmond, TX, Alexis McKenzie of Pachuta, MS and Aaliyah Edwards of Owatonna, MN, three nephews: Kevin Langston Jr. (Keonye Johnson) of Columbia,
SC, Darrius Langston of Orlando, FL, and Derrick Edwards Jr. (Julie) of Lumberton, TX.
Additionally, Willie Jr. leaves to cherish his memories a host of great-nieces, great nephews, cousins and friends.
