William Jackson's Obituary
William Jackson, 73, of New Llano, Louisiana, passed away October 2, 2014, at Christus St. Frances Cabrini Hospital in Alexandria, LA, with loving family by his side.
He was born August 23, 1941, in Pocahontas, VA to the late William and Louise Jackson. Willie as he was called by his family and friends was a Retired Army Veteran after 22 years of service, which included two tours of duties in Vietnam. After retiring he worked for the city of Leesville as Municipal Golf Course Manager until he retired from that job. He was then employed with Cubic Corporation at Fort Polk.
Willie was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Christopher Jackson.
Those left to treasure his memory include his devoted wife of almost fifty years, Lucy Jackson of New Llano, LA; two sons, Stuart Jackson of New Llano, LA & Adam Jackson (Stephanie) of San Diego, CA; four brothers, Charles Fitzgerald (Rita) of Greensboro, NC, Cornelius Jackson (Gloria) of Abilene, TX, Robert Jackson (Jessie) of DeRidder, LA, Taylor Jackson (Donna) of Crumpler, WV; one sister, Christiane Nelson (Rodney) of Lebanon, VA; eight grandchildren; three great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and many friends.
Graveside services will be held on Friday, October 10, 2014, at 2:00 p.m. at the Central Louisiana Veterans Cemetery in Leesville, LA, with Rev. Mike Jackson officiating. Family will receive friends on Friday, October 10, 2014, from 12:00 p.m. until 1:30 p.m. at Labby Memorial Funeral Home in Leesville.
