William "Bill" H. Parker's Obituary
A Memorial Service for William “Billy” Parker, 79, of Simpson will be Saturday, April 12, 2008 at 2:00 PM at the Simpson First Church of God in Simpson. Rev. Carol Adams, Rev. Lorraine Smith, and Rev. Brett Thornton will officiate.
William Hermon “Billy” Parker was born in Simpson, Louisiana on the 8th day of April 1929 the son of Charles Hermon and Minnie White Parker. Billy graduated from Louisiana College in 1951. He received a Master’s Degree from SFA, and also attended NSU and LSU. He taught at Simpson High School from 1951-1981 and was a lifelong resident of Simpson. Billy was a member of the Simpson Church of God. His interest in genealogy and sports was well known. He died peacefully at Byrd Regional Hospital with his family at his side.
Billy was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Gene White Parker.
Billy Parker is survived by his wife of 49 years, June Inez Knight Parker of Simpson, Louisiana; daughters, Annette Parker of Many, Louisiana, Sherry DeAnn Parker of Simpson, Louisiana; granddaughters, Tracy LeeAnn Brewer Howell of Natchitoches, Louisiana, Haley Elizabeth Wilson of Benton, Louisiana; one brother, John Paul Parker of Simpson, Louisiana
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to the Simpson Cemetery Association or the Vernon Parish Library.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Labby Memorial Funeral Home in Leesville, LA.
