William "Arthur" Cooke's Obituary
William “Arthur” Cooke, 95, went to be with the Lord on April 29, 2021. He has joined his parents Sam and Mary Etta Cooke and his seven brothers and sisters who went before him.
Arthur is survived by his wife of 66 years Joanne Cryar Cooke; two sons, Samuel Henry Cooke and Roderick Lynn Cooke and wife Teresa; and two grandchildren, Hannah Lea Cooke and Colin Ray Cooke as well as a number of nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
He served in World War II for three years in the South Pacific. He worked in Civil Service for more than 30 years and was retired from NASA’s Johnson Spacecraft Center in Houston, Texas.
He was an active member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. Visitation will be Saturday, May 1, 2021, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM, at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, in DeRidder, LA. Funeral services will be Sunday, May 2, 2021, visitation will start at 1:00 PM and service will begin at 3:00 PM, at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, in DeRidder, LA, with Rev. Danny Wilson officiating. Interment will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, DeRidder, LA, under the direction of Labby Memorial Funeral Home.
