Virginia was born February 25, 1934, in Kansas City, Missouri. She was the daughter of Fred and Stellar Mae Evans Sexton. She went home to be with her Savior on Friday, November 30, 2013, in Leesville with her family by her side.
Mrs. Young was a homemaker and longtime resident of Leesville. She put her heart into raising her children and grandchildren. Her grandchildren were proud to call her Nannie. She always had candy, cookies and a drink to offer on visits. She enjoyed feeding her birds and always could tell the type of birds who came to eat. Mrs. Young enjoyed conversations about the sermons that preachers would have on television on Sundays. She was a loving mother, grandmother and perfect mother-in-law. In all the trials that we faced as a family she would remind us to “Take One Day At A Time” and let Jesus lead us through.
She was preceded in death by her Parents, Husband, Harris G. Young; Sons, Stacey Young and Tommy Deshields and brothers and sisters.
She is survived by her Sons, Nathan & Tammy Young of Leesville, Richard Young & Nick Fisher of Houston, TX and Phillip Young of Leesville; daughter, Patricia Deshields- Conner and grandchildren, Marcus and Nicholas; great grandchild, Rachel Serhan all of California; Sister Norma Jean Anderson of Davenport, Iowa; Brother, Harold Sexton of Los Angeles, California: Grandchildren, Stephen Young (LaDonna Walters) of Leesville, Christopher Young (Brande McDaniel) of Leesville, Micheal Young (Leanna Borton) of Leesville, Stephanie Young (Nathan Wilkins) of Leesville, Lacie Young (Austin Mitchell) of Leesville; daughters-in-law, Brenda Young McGlothlin and Patty Young and step-sons, Glen and Kenneth Young and their families, as well as her extended family.
Special thanks to the ICU Day staff and the nurses and staff from the third floor at Byrd Regional Hospital. Also, to Dr. Matthew for his care for our loved one through the years.
