Virginia Faye Coleman's Obituary
Funeral services for Virginia F. Coleman, 86, of Houston, formerly of Longville will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, May 13, 2023, with Kenneth Coleman officiating at the Labby Memorial Funeral Home, in DeRidder. Burial will follow in the Memorial Church Cemetery in Longville. Services are entrusted to the care of the Labby Memorial Funeral Home of DeRidder.
Visitation will be Friday, May 12, 2023, from 6:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
Virginia was born on June 29, 1936, in Los Ebanos, Texas, to her parents, Myron Mitchell and Eunice Faye Rouse Coleman. She passed away on Tuesday, May 9, 2023, in Houston, Texas.
Virginia graduated from Longville High School in 1954, where she lettered all four years in Volleyball and Basketball.
Virginia attended the University of Southwestern Louisiana in Lafayette where she began her Bachelor’s Degree in accounting. She completed her degree in Houston. She worked as an accountant for many years.
Virginia loved to garden and enjoyed growing food and flowers that she could share with others. She made many lifelong friends and enjoyed keeping in touch and corresponding with them through the years.
She was preceded in death by her parents Myron and Eunice Coleman.
Left to cherish her memory are her siblings, Elizabeth Dickerson of Dequincy, LA, Verna Jones of Longville, LA, Joyce Alston of Little Elm, TX, Iva Parkinson & husband, Bill of Corpus Christi, TX and Kenneth Coleman & wife, Karan of DeRidder, LA; special friends, Mark & Marltza Hernandez of Houston, TX, Helen McDonald of Lufkin, TX and Gary & Julie Elkins of the Virgin Islands and a host of nieces and nephews.
