While I did not have the pleasure of knowing Violet very well, 'her reputation precedes her.' In announcing her passing at church yesterday, many of her friends here at FPC-Lake Charles acknowledged how special she had become to them in her time here. Thanks be to God for her faithful service to His Church, and I join with those whom lives she has touched in celebrating her entry into the Church Triumphant.
Violet will always be remembered for her great smile, jolly laugh, and her love for the Lord. I was blessed to work with Violet at Main Post Chapel on Fort Polk and we stayed in touched over the years. I will miss her dearly, but I know the Lord welcomed her home on Thanksgiving day with open arms. She was a servant to Him. God bless you dear friend, and rest in peace with Him. Love, Margaret, Ron, and Hugs from Xzavier!
Violet was a wonderful woman. She gave the memorial message at our Mom's service in September 2003. She was a friend of the William and Bertha Martin family. We loved her and had great resprect for her. Violet loved The Lord and is now at rest and peace and enjoying the glorious time with Jesus. Our sympathy and prayers for comfort and peace to all the family.
Violet was a gentle soul. We worked together at Security Division many years ago and after I moved she was always good about letting me know about the people we had worked with. Rest in peace and thank you for your years of kindness to me.
Violet was a friend of mine since we had been in an educational group for Commissioned Lay Pastors, and she used that training well as a supply minister for the PCUSA in the Presbytery of South Louisiana. We will miss her friendship but we know that she is in the hands of a loving God in who she served and believed.

The family wants to thank so many of Violet's friends and church family for all that they have done for Violet. With her being so far away, it was hard for us to look after her, so we thank those who did.
