Victor Earl “Skipper” Penney, 72, of DeRidder, LA, passed from this life on Thursday, November 6, 2014, in Oberlin, LA.
Skipper was born on Sunday, March 22, 1942, to Earl and Gertrude Weick Penney in DeRidder, LA. He lived in DeRidder all of his life and was a graduate of DeRidder High School. He retired from the U.S. Postal System and he loved the outdoors and especially fishing.
He is survived his son, Joseph Penney and wife Jennifer of Lake Charles, LA; daughter, Vicky Moses of Oberlin, LA; 3 brothers, William “Billy” Penney of DeRidder, LA, Charles Penney of Benicia, CA and Paul Penney of DeRidder, LA; 4 sisters, Juanita Thornton of DeRidder, LA, Carolyn Lofton of Arlington, TX, Evelyn Malone of Peachtree City, GA and Maxine Cely of Burkburnett, TX; 2 grandchildren, Eli & Soloman Penney.
Funeral Service will be held on Sunday, November 9, 2014, 3:00 PM at Labby Memorial Funeral Home in DeRidder, LA with Rev. Don Duplechin officiating. Burial will follow at Beauregard Cemetery under the direction of Labby Memorial Funeral Home of DeRidder, LA.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 8, 2014, 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM at Labby Memorial Funeral Home in DeRidder, LA and Sunday at 1:00 PM until the service at the funeral home.
