Veronica Young Chaumont's Obituary
Veronica Young Chaumont, 79, of DeRidder, LA, passed from this life on September 4, 2018 in DeRidder, Louisiana, surrounded by her loving family. Veronica, the daughter of Winnie Young and Mary Francis (Buller) Young was born on September 30, 1938, in Elton, Louisiana.
Visitation will be held Thursday, September 6, 2018, from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM, Rosary will begin at 6:00 PM, Labby Memorial Funeral Home Chapel in DeRidder, LA. Funeral services will be held Friday, September 7, 2018, 10:00 AM, in the St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, DeRidder, LA with Father Jude Brunnert, M.S. officiating. Internment will immediately follow at St. Joseph’s #2 Cemetery, Rayne, LA.
Veronica was a devoted mother and a loving wife. She was an active member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in DeRidder, LA and faithful Christian woman. She was a Recording Secretary for the Catholic Daughters of America and Beginning Experiences Team Member.
Left to cherish her memory are her son, Michael Chaumont of Elberta, AL, Charles Chaumont of Rayne, LA, Henry Chaumont, Jr. and wife, Marie of Youngsville, LA, Robert Chaumont of Catahoula, LA; two daughters, Janet Chaumont Gray and husband, Raymond of Hondo, TX, Monica Chaumont of DeRidder, LA; one brother, Timothy Young of Elton, LA; two sisters, Elizabeth Judice and husband, Harlen of Vinton, LA, Theresa Lyons and husband, Larry of Lake Arthur, LA; ten grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.
Serving as pallbearers will be Cody Shanley, Cole Smith, Alek Smith, Elroy Cooley, Michael Dowden, and Josh Chaumont. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Devin Kincaid, Braxton Martin and Carson Martin.
Preceded in death by her husband, Henry Chaumont, Sr., and parents, Winnie Young and Mary Francis Young.
