Verdie Mooneyham Wilson's Obituary
Funeral services for Verdie Mooneyham Wilson, 91, of Leesville will be held Sunday, April 2, 2017, at 2 pm at the Labby Memorial Funeral Home in Leesville, with Rev. Angela Bulhof and Rev. Hank Hamilton officiating. Burial will follow in the Leesville Cemetery, under the direction of Labby Memorial Funeral Home of Leesville.
Visitation will be Saturday, April 1, 2017, from 5 pm until 8 pm, and Sunday, 11 am until service time in the chapel.
Verdie, the daughter of George and Verdie Hoffpauir Mooneyham was born on June 27, 1925, in Leesville, LA. She passed away Wednesday, March 29th in Lake Charles, LA. She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband of 53 years, Eldee Wilson.
Verdie graduated from Leesville High School in 1942 and was also a former band member. Verdie was an avid Wampus Cat fan through and through. Verdie was a member of the Leesville Pilot Club since 1969. She formerly worked for Phoenix and Leesville Drug Stores and was a member of First United Methodist Church. She was a member of the Dixie Dancers.
She is survived by her children, Katherine Hemenway of Leesville, Eldee and Beth Wilson of Green Valley Warner Robbins, GA, Carolynn and Russell Byers of Greenville, AZ, and Susan Gunter of Leesville; 8 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
