Vera Louise Walker Carroll's Obituary
Funeral services for Vera Louise Walker Carroll, 82, of Pitkin, Louisiana will be held at 12:00 p.m. Sunday, December 13, 2015, at the Fullerton Baptist Church in Pitkin with Bro. Stephen Squires, Bro. Hardy Estes and Bro. Pat Austin officiating. Burial will follow in the Black Jack Cemetery, under the direction of Labby Memorial Funeral Home of Leesville.
Visitation will be Saturday, December 12, 2015, from 11:00 a.m. until time of service at the church.
Louise, the daughter of James Cecil and Myrtie Smith Walker, was born February 14, 1933, in St. Joe, LA. She passed away on Friday, December 11, 2015 at her residence in Pitkin, LA, with her loving family by her side.
Mrs. Carroll worked for Calcasieu Paper Company in Elizabeth and worked for Vernon Parish School Board and has been retired for twenty two years. She was a longtime member of Fullerton Baptist Church.
A lady after God's own heart, our mother and grandmother lived a life of steadfast faith and dedication to the Lord. Her quiet yet faithful example pointed her family to the saving knowledge of our Savior. We rejoice this day knowing she is face to face with her Savior experiencing all the glory of the Lord that she eagerly awaited.
She was preceded in death by her; husband, Calvin Carroll; parents, James & Myrtie Walker and sister, Edoil Abel.
She is survived by her daughters, Vernelle Henry & husband, Donald of Logansport, LA and Linda Martin & husband, Mitchell of DeRidder; son, Willard Carroll & wife, Pam of Pitkin; grandchildren, Jarrod Henry, Celena Socoteanu, Chad Martin, Kassandra Johnson, Shannon Martin, Heath, Erik and Catlin Carroll; twelve great-grandchildren, Julya, Janna, Micah, Emma, Camille, Bryce, Hudson, and Grayson Socoteanu; Cole and Rayne Martin; Payton and Austin Johnson; brother, JC Walker and sisters, Shirley Davis & Gertie Williams and sister-in-law Audrey Thompson who was more like a sister.
Pallbearers will be; Heath Carroll, Catlin Carroll, Erik Carroll, Chad Martin, Shannon Martin, and Matei Socoteanu . Honorary pallbearers will be: Jarrod Henry, JC Walker, and Charles Ray Johnson.
Also a Special thanks to St. Joseph Hospice, Dr. Howard Wold & Hematology Oncology Life Center and Dr. Richard Norem, II.
