Trellis Elizabeth Havens' Obituary
Trellis Elizabeth Havens, a beloved mother and cherished friend to many, passed away peacefully on February 8, 2025, in her hometown of DeRidder, Louisiana. Born on January 21, 1937, Trellis was a beacon of strength and resilience throughout her life. She dedicated herself to raising her children and nurturing the bonds that held her family together.
Survived by her daughters Sandra Franks of Singer, La., Tammy Havens and husband Paul of Church Point, La., and Mary Smith and husband Royce of DeRidder, La., sister Barbara Matthews of Texas, ten grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren. Trellis leaves behind a legacy woven with love. A strong woman who spoke her mind with unwavering honesty and conviction. She faced life's challenges head-on while maintaining a kind spirit that inspired those around her.
Trellis is preceded in death by sons Clarence Herman Northcutt Jr. and Eddie Wayne Northcutt; daughter Connie Brown; grandson Michael Pickering; first husband Clarence Northcutt Sr.; second husband Andy Havens; parents Mandoza Cooley and Louis Young along with stepfather Aubrey Young; four brothers; three sisters; leaving behind not only memories but also lessons in love that will be carried forward through generations.
Visitation will take place on Wednesday, February 12th from 11 AM to 1 PM at Labby Memorial Chapel in DeRidder for friends and family wishing to pay their respects before funeral services beginning at 1 PM. Burial to follow at Whitaker Cemetery in DeRidder.
Those honored to serve as pallbearers are: Anthony Cooper, James McBroom, Chris Cooper, Jeff Yellott, Tony Cooley, and David Harvey.
Though Trellis has departed this world physically—a void now exists where once stood a pillar of strength—the impact she made will forever resonate within our hearts. She was loved fiercely by those fortunate enough to know her—and though we mourn our loss today—we celebrate the beautiful life she lived: one marked by unconditional love for family above all else—a true testament to what it means to live fully without reservation or regret.
Trellis Elizabeth Havens may have left us too soon—but she will always remain alive within our cherished memories—her spirit guiding us as we navigate this journey called life without our beloved mother beside us.
