Travis L. Evans, Sr.'s Obituary
Funeral services for Travis L. Evans, Sr. 74, of Florien, LA will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, January 2, 2014, at the Harmony Cove Baptist in Florien. Burial will follow in the Clearwater Cemetery, under the direction of Labby Memorial Funeral Home of Leesville.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, January 1st from 6 p.m. until time of service at the church.
Travis, the son of Clarence Leroy and Lola Travis Evans was born August 14, 1939, in Dess, LA. He passed away Monday, December 30, 2013, in Many.
Mr. Evans was a United States Army Veteran. He formerly served on the District 8 Baptist Association Sunday School Director, Toledo Bend Baptist Mission Board Member and was a Sunday School Superintendent for Harmony Cove Baptist Church. He was also a Mason for the Negreet Masonic Lodge. Travis was a truck driver having worked for Patrick Miller, Dwitt Oil Company and owned and operator Rocking E Trucking.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, Bud Evans and Ernest Evans.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Sally Evans of Florien; sons, Travis Evans, Jr., & wife Laura of Kenefick, TX & Tim Evans, Sr., & wife Jennifer of Noble, LA; daughters, Darlene Buckaloo & husband, Buck of Baytown, TX & Dian Woolcock & husband Scott of Richmond, TX; brothers, Earl Evans & wife Linda of New Caney, TX & Carl Evans of Shreveport, LA; sister, Ernestine Belsha of Florien, LA; sister-in-law, Betty Evans of Many, LA; special niece, Amanda McEwen; twelve grandchildren, and thirteen great grandchildren.
