Thomas Welch's Obituary
A celebration of the life of Thomas (Tom) Welch will be held on Sunday, November 29, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Leesville with with Rev. Wallace Palmer, Rev. Craig Forque and Rev. Jeff Coleman officiating. Burial will follow at Castor Cemetery in Leesville.
Visitation will be Saturday, November 28 at Labby Memorial Funeral Home in Leesville from 5 pm to 8 pm
Tom attended high school in Kentucky and then served 4 years in Strategic Air Command at Barksdale Air Force Base. He graduated from Northwestern State University and worked several years as an electronic engineer before moving to Leesville to establish Printing Plus, which he owned and operated for 38 years with his wife.
He was a member of First Baptist Church of Leesville, Leesville Lions Club (Past President), Vernon Chamber of Commerce (Past Board Member), as well as several professional organizations. He loved to travel and was privileged to visit several countries, as well as much of the United States.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ray Hamilton and Jeanette Welch, and one brother, Ray Carroll Welch. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Judy Cavanaugh Welch, son Thomas Scott Welch and wife Susan of Denver, Co. daughter Rhonda Welch Collins and granddaughter Ariel Bliss Collins of Maui, Hawaii, sister Dorothy Wesley of Kentucky, and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family expresses gratitude to many for their prayers and generous acts of kindness, as well as to Hospice of Leesville for their expert care, and to special friend Dorothy Talbert for her many days of loving care and devotion.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to First Baptist Church of Leesville or Hospice of Leesville.
