Thomas Michael Ullom's Obituary
CWO2 (Ret.) Thomas Michael Ullom, 62, of DeRidder, LA, passed from this life on Wednesday, July 01, 2020 at his home surrounded by his loved ones. Thomas, the son of CW4 (Ret.) Bassett Ware Ullom and the late Beverly Ann Woodfin Ullom was born on February 06, 1958, in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
Visitation will begin Friday, July 03, 2020, from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM, in Labby Memorial Funeral Home in DeRidder, LA. Graveside service will be at 3:00 PM at Drakes Fork Cemetery in Pitkin, LA with military honors to follow. Officiating the service will be Rev. Danny Wilson, Pastor of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in DeRidder, LA.
Thomas retired from the U.S. Army in 1993 at the rank of Chief Warrant Officer 2. During his military career, he was stationed at various places and worked in the nuclear field as a nuclear weapons technician.
Thomas was an active member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. He was an active member of AWANA, leader for Gods Shining Stars (a special needs ministry of PHBC). He was an active member of the local Boy Scouts and in the Beauregard Parish Special Olympics. However, most of all he enjoyed hunting, shooting sports, fishing and anything ARMY.
Thomas is preceded in death by his mother, Beverly Woodfin Ullom; son, Justin Ryan Ullom.
Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife, Eva Ullom of DeRidder, LA son, Nathan Thomas Ullom of DeRidder, LA; father, CWO4 (Ret.) Bassett Ware Ullom of Albuquerque, NM; two brothers, William Keith Ullom of Omaha, NE, David Ullom and wife Samantha of Omaha NE; 2 sisters, Deborah O’Sullivan and husband Col. (Ret.) Michael of Albuquerque, NM, Kelly Quillin and husband James of Albuquerque, NM; and a host of extended family and friends.
