Thomas "Kerry" Starkey's Obituary
Thomas “Kerry” Starkey, 70, of DeRidder, Louisiana, passed from this life on Thursday, September 23, 2021 in Alexandria, Louisiana. Kerry, the son of Roger Starkey and Hazel Young Starkey was born on July 21, 1951, in Kinder, Louisiana.
Visitation will begin Saturday, September 25 2021, from 1:00 PM until Funeral Service begins at 5:00 PM, at Cherry Grove Baptist Church, 172 Cherry Grove Road in Dry Creek, Louisiana with Rev. Ron Butler and Rev. Tim Lee officiating. Interment will follow at Cherry Grove Cemetery, Dry Creek, Louisiana.
Kerry never met a stranger, young or old. His Mom taught him the value of visiting the sick and sitting on the front porch drinking coffee. His greatest joy was traveling and taking photos. Kerry was a big teddy-bear that loved his family and friends. The people that knew him loved him. Those that didn’t know him will never know what they missed.
Left to cherish his memory are his nephew Kelton Wayne Starkey and wife Pam; great nephew Dillon Starkey; children-in-love, Alli Furlow of Baton Rouge, LA, Kailey Bailey of Lake Charles, LA, Karley Bailey of DeRidder, LA, Jude, Emery, and Hayes Warren of DeRidder, LA, Shana Martin of Lake Charles, LA; cousins, beloved caretaker, Pat Andrews and husband Joey of Sugartown, LA, spiritual guide, Regina Martin and husband Peanut of Sugartown, LA, Jimmy Young of Denham Springs, LA; faithful friends, R. D. Trammel, Lindsey Dunham, Bob and Sharon Richardson, Corky and Joy Mahaffey, Ricky Earl, Neal Cole, Hallis Howell, Jeanie Young, and Traci Furlow.
Preceded in death by his parents, Roger and Hazel Starkey; brother Gene Starkey; infant brother Mark Starkey; and good friend Randy Young.
Those honored to serve as a pallbearer are Jimmy Young, Lindsey Dunham, Ricky Earl, R. D. Trammel, Neal Cole, and Corky Mahaffey.
Those honored to serve as an honorary pallbearer are Wayne Starkey, Kailey Bailey, and Karley Bailey.
