Thermon E. McKee's Obituary
Funeral services for Thermon E. McKee, 81, of Leesville, Louisiana will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 19th, at the Walnut Hill United Pentecostal Church in Slagle with Rev. Dale Mortensen and Rev. C.W. Dowden officiating. Burial will follow in the Walnut Hill Cemetery, under the direction of Labby Memorial Funeral Home of Leesville.
Visitation will be Wednesday, Feb 18th, at 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM in the funeral home then 12 noon until service time at the church, Thursday, Feb. 19th.
Thermon, the son of Lester “Jack” and Artes Haymon McKee, was born October 16, 1933 in Fullerton, LA and passed away Feb. 16, 2015 at his residence in Leesville.
Thermon as a teenager served in US Army during the Korean Conflict. He retired from Marathon Oil as an operator in Texas City, TX. He truly had a love for the outdoors, be it hunting, fishing and/or gardening, he just loved being outside. Thermon just had a way about him that made people laugh. He was a member of the Walnut Hill United Pentecostal Church and he was previously member at Anacoco UPC. He was preceded in death by his parents; his “Momma”, Goldie Mae Barton McKee; brothers, Winfred Earl McKee and Jack Junior McKee
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Patricia McKee of Leesville; Sons, DeWayne Edward and wife Leah McKee of Nederland, TX, Lyndle Dean McKee of Sante Fe, TX and Lynward Dale and wife Selina McKee of Willis, TX; daughter, Debra L. and husband Stephen Hinkle of Leesville, LA; brother; Donny Gene and wife Jackie McKee of Leesville, LA; 6 grandchildren and one great grandchild.
