Thelma L. Odom's Obituary
Sister Thelma Odom was born to the union of Bryant Whatley and Francis Scoot Whatley, in Toledo Bend, Texas on February 18, 1929. She entered eternal rest on May 12, 2015 in her home in Leesville, Louisiana. She confessed her love for Christ, at an early age and served him faithfully.
Sis Odom was preceded in death by her husband Dennis Odom and her parents, her brothers, Albert Whatley and Edward Whatley, her sisters, Bessie M. Standley, Corine Whatley, Essie Mae Travis and Della Mae Whatley.
Sis Odom was a faithful and long standing member of the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church for many, many years remaining a member until her death. She thoroughly enjoyed Sunday School Class, Mission and Sunday morning worship service. She was a very humble, warm and kind person.
She worked for thirty plus years at the Leesville State School in Vernon Parish, prior to her retirement. She however, was always available when called upon to provide assistance as needed. Being the outgoing person that she was, she enjoyed her co-workers and the clients.
She leaves to cherish her memories, her loving and devoted great nephew, Robert Thomas, nieces, Minnie Lee Travis Thomas, Benny Thomas, Otha Jean Chaney and a host of other nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Funeral services will 1:00 PM, Saturday, May 23rd, at the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church The burial will follow at the Leesville Memorial Cemetery.
