Thelma Marie Kay's Obituary
Funeral services for Thelma Marie Kay, of Burr Ferry, will be held at 11:30 A.M. on Thursday, August 22, 2019 in the Freedom Rest Baptist Church in Anacoco with Rev. George Jeane officiating. Burial will follow in the Beech Grove Cemetery in Anacoco, under the direction of Labby Memorial Funeral Home in Leesville.
Visitation will be Wednesday, August 21, from 6:00 P. M until time of service in the church.
Thelma Marie Kay was born the daughter of William T Brittain & Martha Adaline Brittain on the 15th day of June, 1930. She entered eternal rest Tuesday, August 20, 2019 at her home in Burr Ferry, LA at the age of 89 years, 2 months, 5 days.
She was a longtime member of Freedom Rest Baptist Church. She loved to fish, garden and spending time with her family.
She is preceded in death by her husband; Albert James “A.J.” Kay, son; Buford Kay.
She is survived by her children and Spouses; Laverne and Ronnie Atchison of Call, TX., Lillian and Alan Simmons of Burr Ferry, LA., Bertha Ann and Mark Baker of Burr Ferry, LA., James and Nancy Kay of Anacoco, LA., Sharon and Billy Laurent of Leesville, LA., Martha and Doug McNeely of Toledo Bend, LA., Pamela and Edwin McCullough of Anacoco, LA., Jerry and Cindy Kay of Burr Ferry, LA., Wanda and Jeremiah Murphy of Burr Ferry, LA., 38 grandchildren, 79 great grandchildren, 31 great-great grandchildren, siblings and their spouses; Jan Burr of Burkeville, TX., Carolyn and Gene Swain of Burkeville, TX., Jewel Savoie of Burkeville, TX., W. H. and Mary Brittain of Burkeville, TX., William Thomas and Barbara Brittain of Burkeville, TX., host of nieces and nephews.
