Thaney Jewel Graham Self Cabra's Obituary
Thaney Jewel Graham Self Cabra was born August 27, 1912 and died on April 3, 2009 at the age of 96 year seven months and 8 days. She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Addie Sandell Graham; her husband of 43 years Robert Pierce Self, a son and two daughters; her husband of 7 years Bernice Cabra; three brothers, Lusher, Omer and Sherman Graham; 3 sisters, Ruby Graham Rains, Audrey Gradam Bentsen and Lilliam Graham Montelon and her son-in-law, Maxwell Juneau.
She is survivied by two daughters; Patricia Juneau and Ruth Jones and her husband Wayne; One granddaughter, Leah Jones Williams, her husband Rodney and their son Duncan all of Hornbeck; One brother, Perry Graham of Seguine, TX; one sister, Leatha Mae McFerrin of Baton Rouge, LA and a host of neices and nephews.
Miss Thaey, as she was called by her friends, was a life-long resident of Hornbeck. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Hornbeck for over 50 years where she taught Sunday School, was Sunday School Secretary and performed many other tasks within her beloved church. She drove a school bus for 33 years to Hornbeck High School. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star for over 50 years. The last 3 years and three months of Miss Thaney's life were spent at The Woodlands in Leesville, LA
Her funeral services will be held at 2:00p.m. Tuesday, April 7th at First Baptist Church in Horbeck with Joey Williams and Bill Hines officating. The burial will be in the Self Cemetery in Hornbeck. Family and friends may visit from 5 pm until 10 pm in the church Monday, April 6th.
The family has asked tha in lieu of flowers memorials can be made to the Piano Fund and the First Baptist Church in Hornbeck.
