Teresa Hunt's Obituary
Teresa “Lolly” Hunt, 63, of DeRidder, passed away on the evening of Thursday, April 10, 2025 at the Beauregard Memorial Hospital. A memorial service will take place on Thursday, April 17, 2025 at 4:00 PM at Labby Funeral Home in DeRidder.
Teresa was born in 1962 and raised in Leesville. She was a lively and active academic with a passion for the written word. She was married in 1982 to Thomas Riley, she was blessed with three beloved children, daughters Erin and Megan, and son David. Her greatest joys in life were her children, and her life was spent raising and providing for them. Shortly after relocating to DeRidder, her first marriage came to an end. She struggled as a single mom for a time before meeting the love of her life. She and Tim married in 2001. Together they loved and nurtured their children. All three graduated from DeRidder High School, and Megan graduated from LSU in 2017. Teresa welcomed her first grandson in 2018, becoming “Lolly,” as we've all come to know her, and from that point on her grandchildren were her greatest joys and strongest motivators. Teresa considered her family her life’s greatest accomplishment.
Teresa is preceded in death by her grandparents, Eva and DJ “Sundown” Robertson, her mother, Loretta Robertson Forque; her mother-in-law, Ellen Hunt; her brother-in-law Doug Plummer; and her beloved son, David James Riley.
She leaves behind her loving husband, Tim Hunt; adoring daughter Erin and husband Kris Smith of Groves, Texas; adoring daughter Megan Riley of DeRidder; beloved daughter-in-law Megan Tribble of DeRidder; grandsons Kylan Reese Smith, Denver Jace Riley, and Kaison David Smith; father-in-law Howard Hunt; brother Craig Forque and family; sister Lori Plummer and family; sister Dawn Lee and family, as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
Teresa will be dearly missed and remembered for her unfailing kindness, warmth, and devotion to her family. Her children and grandchildren were her greatest treasures, and she never failed in making them feel loved and always welcome. She never let them leave a room without her saying “I love you.” Her absence will be felt with every passing day, but we are comforted to know she is at peace with her beloved son and mother in Heaven. We will cherish her memory and every moment we shared with her.
