Ted Lee Milner's Obituary
Ted Lee Milner was born on July 1, 1945 in Alexandria LA. He went to his heavenly rest on October 23, 2024 where he joined his late wife of 57 years, Linda R. Milner, his parents Herman R and Bonnie Girlinghouse Milner and a host of Reding, Girlinghouse and Milner relatives. He is survived by his brothers, Don (Patti) Milner and Bob (Anne) Milner; nieces, Megan Layman, Betsey Norton, and nephew Chris Milner.
Ted spent his first school years in DeRidder City Schools. He then attended LSU and graduated from Northwestern Louisiana State University with a degree in Business Administration. Ted joined the US Navy and spent the next four years traveling the world. A couple of years after the Navy he was hired again by the US government and worked at Fort Polk for the next 30 plus years.
Ted and Linda spent much of their vacation time traveling and camping all around the USA. Quite often they were with their best friends (the late) Larry and Charlotte Moore and their daughters Gretchen and Greta whom they considered as grandkids.
Ted loved to tinker with anything. He had most of the power tools known to man and used them to upgrade and add onto their home. He loved fishing and being outdoors. Ted enjoyed spending time with Linda and her friends at the RealArt Of DeRidder. He loved his pets and was often in later was often seen cradling a small dog.
While Ted was NEVER known for cooking remember that he always grated the cheddar for Linda's Pimento Cheese Spread.
Private burial will take place at Beauregard Cemetery in DeRidder. A Celebration of Life for Ted will be held on December 7, 2024, at 11:00 AM at Labby Memorial Funeral Home in DeRidder. Friends and family may gather to share memories of Ted from 10:00 AM until the time of the service. Military honors will be conducted by the United States Navy Honor Guard following the celebration of life.
In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
