Rev. T.A. Gibson's Obituary
Rev. T.A. Gibson, 92, was born on February 2, 1933 and passed from this life on June 23, 2025 In Leesville, Louisiana surrounded by his beloved family.
T.A was born in Nacogdoches, Texas, he was the son of A.J. and Effie Gibson. He graduated High school as the salutatorian and also attended Tulsa Oklahoma Bible College and St. Paul Minnesota Bible College. Following college he evangelized full time for 4 years. He then met his beloved wife, Janice Bolgiano Gibson in February 1956 and they married July 21 of the same year, sharing 69 years of a blessed marriage. They continued to evangelize for 8 months before building two home mission churches in Pine Hurst of Orange, Texas and Savannah, Georgia. For 6 years he served as the Georgia District Secretary for the UPC. They were elected as Pastors in 1969 at East Leesville United Pentecostal Church and served for 43 years. During their time as pastor, they spearheaded a variety of outreach ministries, including a thriving bus ministry, a consistent jail ministry and a faithful nursing home ministry, that impacted many lives. Under their leadership, the church entered a season of growth, launching a successful building project to expand its facilities and better serve the congregation. T.A. personally designed and oversaw the construction of the new facility demonstrating both vision and dedication to the work of the Lord.
He was a member of Anacoco United Pentecostal Church for the past 10 years. He was a part of the music department playing his steel guitar and using his talent with the singing group "By Faith".
He had a love and passion for the steel guitar and loved singing and playing with his family. In his free time, he enjoyed gardening, working out at the gym, building things with his hands, hunting and fishing. He will be remembered for his love for his family, his love of music and his passion for soul winning.
T.A. is survived by his spouse, Janice Gibson, his 3 children, Randall Gibson, wife Dianne of Leesville, Louisiana, Meletta Stephens, husband Dale of Silsbee, Texas and Darla Gill of Leesville, Louisiana. 6 grandchildren, Pappaw had a unique nickname for each, Angela Gibson (Boogie) Darren Erwin (Buster), Barrett Gibson (Bo-Jack), LaRanda Pippin (Butterfly), Kayla Grant (Bumblebee) and Harley Gill (Boom Boom). 10 great grandchildren. His sister, Robbie Ainsworth and brother, Larry Gibson both of Kirbyville, Texas, numerous nieces and nephews. And his 2 puppies, Bobo and Andy.
He is preceded in death by his precious father and mother, A.J. and Effie Gibson, his two brothers, Charles and Marvin Gibson and sister, Merle Ellis.
The Funeral and Graveside services will be held on Saturday, June 28, 2025 at 1:00 PM at Hope Springs UPC formally East Leesville UPC, 197 Alexandria Hwy, Leesville, Louisiana 71446 with interment at the Mt. Bethel Cemetery. The visitation will be held on Friday, June 27, at 5-9 PM at Hope Springs UPC.
