Sudie M. Strickland's Obituary
Funeral services for Sudie M. Strickland, 85, of Anacoco, Louisiana will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 23, 2011, at Good Hope Baptist Church in Anacoco with Rev. Huey Haymon and Rev. Wallace Palmer officiating. Burial will follow in the Good Hope Cemetery in Anacoco, LA under the direction of Labby Memorial Funeral Home of Leesville.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, November 22, 2011, from 2 pm until time of service Wednesday at church.
Sudie, the daughter of Coke Pierce and Edie Almedia Addison McElveen was born on March 10, 1926, in Vernon Parish, Louisiana. She passed away on Sunday, November 20, 2011, at her residence in Anacoco, LA. Mrs. Strickland was a lifelong resident of Vernon Parish. She was a homemaker, a former WMU member and member of Good Hope Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert Strickland and son, Michael Strickland.
She is survived by her sons, Billy P. Strickland & wife, Linda, Danny Ray Strickland & wife Karen, & Kenneth “Kenny” Strickland & wife Kelli, all of Anacoco; daughters, Ruby S. Addison & husband, Ray, Martha Adams & husband Joe, Libby Owen & husband Joseph & Joann Dixon & husband Cullen, all of Anacoco; sisters, Lovine Welch & husband Rev. Clarence Welch & Melba Smith & husband Earl, all of Anacoco; 16 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and 6 great, great grandchildren.
