Steve"Couchie" D Kennedy's Obituary
Funeral services for Steve D. Kennedy “Couchie”, of Leesville, will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, May 29, 2021 in the Mt. Olive Baptist Church of Leesville with Pastor Oscar Joiner Sr. officiating. Burial will follow in the Leesville Memorial Cemetery in Leesville.
Visitation will be Saturday, May 29, 2021 from 9:00 A.M until time of service at the church.
Steve was born on September 10, 1964 to his parents, Steve and Willie Mae Thomas Kennedy. He passed away on Friday, May 21, 2021 in Baton Rouge, LA., at the age of 56.
He was baptized at a very young age at Mt. Olive Baptist Church. He attended East Leesville Elementary School in 1970 and was a graduate of Leesville High School Class of 1983. He attended University of Tulsa Oklahoma and Dillard University and resided in Phoenix Arizona for a few years.
Steve was employed by the Leesville State School for a number of years. Some of his other jobs included Off Shore, Special Needs Group Homes, Koury Auto and WheelMart Dealerships.
Left to cherish his memory is his parents; Steve and Willie Mae Kennedy of Leesville, LA., daughter; Jacinta James of Miami, FL., sister; Pamela Anderson (Louis) of New Llano, LA., grandmother; Ada Thomas of Leesville, LA., grandchildren; Trinity & Serenity, nephews; Louis Anderson Jr. & Trey Anderson, aunt/uncles; Billie Sims, Marie Watkins (Steve) all of Leesville, LA., Marilyn Robinson (Andrew) of Springfield, MA., Willie Mae Kennedy, Julia Kennedy both of Natchitoches, LA., Clarence (Irma) Kennedy of Bossier City, LA., & Lue Kennedy of Leesville, LA., Elizabeth Kennedy of Houston, TX., and a host of relatives and friends.
