Stephen Boyd McGlothlin's Obituary
Funeral services for Stephen Boyd McGlothlin, 52, of Evans, will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Thursday, January 21, 2021 at Grace Baptist Church in Evans with Bro. David Richmond & Bro. Ken Avery officiating. Burial will follow in the Wales Cemetery in Slagle.
Visitation will be Wednesday, January 20, from 5:00 P.M until service time in the church.
Stephen was born on November 6, 1968 in Pineville, Louisiana to his parents, Jackson W. Sr. & Carolyn Collins McGlothlin. He passed away on Monday, January 18, 2021 in the West Calcasieu Cameron Hospital in Sulphur, La.
Stephen worked off shore for 28 years, 24 of those years for Diamond Offshore. Recently he went to work for Test LLC at Ft Polk and loved his change in career. He thought of his coworkers as family. He was a hardworking man on and off the job. He is well known for his love of family and friends. He was always willing to give and help others. As a volunteer firefighter for the Evans department he was always ready and willing to assist in whatever task that was required. To have known him was to have known love, loyalty and commitment. He married his high school sweetheart for 32 years.
Stephen is preceded in death by his parents, brothers: Michael McGlothlin, Jackson McGlothlin Jr., Ricky McGlothlin; sister: Debra McGlothlin.Left to cherish his memory is his wife; Grace McGlothlin which he referred to everyone as my “Graciemay” of Evans, his proudest accomplishment his sons; Blake McGlothlin and Casey McGlothlin both of Evans, brother; Jerry McGlothlin of Leesville, sisters; Shelia Scanlon (Pete) of Leesville, Lori McGlothlin of Leesville and Michele Zman (Doug) of Burr Ferry; his princess and whole world granddaughter; Kentleigh McGlothlin, grandson; Kaiden Olivieri, and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends that he loved each and every one deeply and would have done anything for any of them at any time day or night, his lifelong friend; Ernie Lynn and Mark Cothran, they have been his faithful sidekicks.
