Shirley Pressley Parker's Obituary
Born June 12,1926, in Voth, Texas, to David Charles Curtis (Doc) Pressley, and Electa Adeline Haines Pressley. Went to her heavenly home, September 6th, 2014.
She enjoyed working in the garden, cooking for her family and friends, taking care of her husband for 67 years, and being active in her home church. After giving her children their start in life, she went back to school and started a career as an Licensed Practical Nurse at St. Patricks Hospital for twenty-six years.
Preceding in death Clyde J. Parker -husband, 2 sisters- Mary Lou Dartez, and Janette Chapman, 1 brother- John Curtis Pressley, and daughter in law, Delores Parker.
Survived by 2 sons- Davis Parker of Ragley and Michael Parker(Peggy) of Ragley. Also survived by 5 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
The family would express their appreciation to Ms. Chris Dickens, the nurses, aids, and administration of Rosepine Rehab Center. They would also like to express their appreciation to Brighton Bridge Hospice staff for the care that was given.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, from 5 pm until 9 pm at Magnolia Baptist Church in Ragley The funeral service, Wednesday at 2 PM, at Magnolia Baptist Church. Internment will be at the Magnolia Cemetery under the direction of Labby Funeral Home of DeRidder.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Magnolia Baptist Church, the church of your choice, or the charity of choice.
