Shirley Jean Davidson's Obituary
Shirley Jean Davidson, 78, of Wharton, Texas, passed away Monday, February 24th, 2014, at a Rosenberg nursing center following a lengthy illness. Shirley was born May 18, 1935, in Merryville, Louisiana to the late Homer and Della Dunn Willett. Shirley was raised in the Merryville area and graduated from Merryville High School in Louisiana. She married Jack L. Davidson in March 1953. They moved the family to Wharton in 1972. Jack preceded her in death on November 19, 1977. She worked as a bookkeeper for many Wharton businesses over the years. She enjoyed her grandchildren, gardening, and shopping. Shirley was Baptist by faith. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband. Shirley is survived by her daughter, Debbie Rose and husband Jerry of Pensacola, Florida; sons, Larry Davidson and wife, Debbie of East Bernard and Kevin Davidson and wife Linda of Sugarland; brother, Dalton Willett and wife Billie of Iowa, Louisiana and grandchildren, Thaddius Davidson and wife Lisa of East Bernard, Kacie Davidson of Lissie, Leia Davidson of Sugarland and Bobby Wright, III of Dallas, Texas.
Wharton visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 26th from 5 till 9 pm at Wharton Funeral Home.
DeRidder LA, visitation will be held on Thursday, February 27th, at Labby Memorial Funeral Home from 5 until 9 pm with the funeral service held Friday, February 28, 2014, at the chapel of Labby Memorial Funeral Home at 2pm. Burial will be in the Cannon Cemetery near Merryville, Louisiana.
