Sharon A. Greer's Obituary
It is with deep regret and sadness that we announce the death of our wife, mother, sister, and friend. Sharon A. Greer, 70, Leesville, Louisiana, passed away March 25, 2012, in Rapides Regional Hospital, Alexandria, Louisiana.
She was born in Muskogee, Oklahoma, to Melva and Leonard Anderson.
Sharon retired from Fort Polk Federal Civil Service in 1995.
She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the American Legion, Post 145, in Leesville.
Sharon is survived by her husband of 49 years, Paul L. Greer. She was honored to be the wife of her Soldier and supported him throughout his career. Her two children, Lane Greer (married to Angie) and Lisa Ely (both of Leesville), will miss her dearly.
“Nana” also leaves behind five grandchildren to cherish her memory; Corey Costa (married to Heather) from LaCamp, Elane Cochran (married to Doug) from Texarkana, Texas, Julianne Ely, Lucas Greer, and Jenna Ely from Leesville. She is also survived by one great grandchild, Kylie Costa.
Her brother, Mike Anderson (married to Alice) from New Hampton, New Hampshire, will also mourn the loss.
Sharon is preceded in death by her mother and father.
Service will be held at Labby Memorial Funeral Home, 10:00 AM, Wednesday, March 28, 2012, with Father Clemente Mauricio officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 – 8:00 PM, Tuesday, March 27, 2012, and from 8:00 AM until time of service on Wednesday.
Graveside service will be held at 3:00 P.M. on Wednesday at Cane Cemetery, Hallsville, Texas.
