Sandra Rich's Obituary
Funeral services for Sandra Rich will be at First Baptist Church in DeRidder on Monday, May 4th at 10 A.M. The Rev. Lindsey Burns and Truitt Brown will be officiating. Visitation will be from 5 pm to 7 pm, Sunday, May 3rd at the Labby Memorial Funeral Home in DeRidder. Burial will follow at Blackjack Cemetery.
Sandra was born, May 30, 1943, in Elizabeth, LA, the daughter of Dempsey and Mamie Perkins Calhoun. She passed away April 30, 2015 at Beauregard Memorial Hospital in DeRidder.
To know Sandra was to love her and know that she loved the Lord and her family with everything in her.
Sandra was very active in her church, First Baptist Church of DeRidder. She formerly served as the Preschool Director, a member of the choir, taught adult and children Sunday school and also Vacation Bible School. She taught 2nd and 5th grades at East Beauregard Elementary. Currently Sandra was the director of the War Memorial Civic Center in DeRidder.
Sandra’s passion was quilting. She formerly owned and operated the Quilt Shop in DeRidder, in her husband’s words, “She simply had a Love for Quilting.”
She is survived by her husband of 43 years Ken Rich of DeRidder; sons Chuck and wife Ann Rich of Madisonville, LA and Chris and wife Amanda Rich of Shreveport, LA., sister Vaughn and husband Jack Webb of New York, NY; four grandchildren, Carson, Colby, Ella Grace and Sloan.
The family has asked that memorial donations be made to the S.E. Asia Mission at First Baptist Church.
