Sandra Hash's Obituary
Sandra Jean Smith Hash was born February 5nd, 1944 and was called to her Heavenly Home April 2nd, 2017. She was born in Riverside, California to Earl and Lucille Smith. She married Jerry W. Hash, Sr. on May 2nd, 1963 and was happily married for 42 years. She spent her life as a devoted wife and mother after retirement from Civil Service. She was actively involved with Eastern Star in both DeRidder, La., and El Paso, Tx Chapters. For many years she spent time touching the lives of others by devoting time to teaching Sunday School and Vacation Bible School to children and she also was a Youth teacher and camp counselor. She loved the Lord and also taught new Christians the foundation of the Bible and what God’s word had to say. To many she was known as Momma Hash over the years and was loved by all of the young lives she molded. While living in El Paso she was generous with her time in her community. She is preceded in death by her husband, Wayne; her parents, Earl and Lucille Smith of DeRidder, La., her sister Gloria Cavallaro of DeRidder, a niece, Melody Rushing of Sulphur, La., a daughter, Pam Esteppe of Mt. Sterling, Ky., and a grandson, Jay Phillipsen of El Paso, Tx. She is survived by three children; Shanda Weaver of Kutztown, Pa., Jerry Hash Jr. and wife Josie of Wichita Falls. Tx., and Tiffany Darby of Lubbock, Tx. 9 Grandchildren; Renee Weaver of Henrietta, Tx., Laura Weaver of Wichita Falls, Tx., Tatyana Morrill of Oak Grove, Ky., Jesse Hash and Jeremy Hash of Wichita Falls, Tx., Jacqueline Hash and husband Joseph of Colorado Springs, Co., Crystal Whitt, Michael Williams and Misti Williams from Mt. Sterling, Ky. Visitation will be Friday, April 7th from 5-7 pm at Labby Memorial Funeral Homes in DeRidder. Service will be Saturday, April 8th at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church at 10 am with Graveside to follow at Lewis Cemetery. Donations can be made in her honor at the Alzheimer’s Association and Gideon International.
