Sandra Marie Allain Hopewell's Obituary
Funeral Mass for Sandra Marie Allain Hopewell, 69, of Slagle, Louisiana will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, September 20, 2010 at St. Michael The Archangel Catholic Church in Leesville with the Father Bruce Miller & Father Clemente Mauricio officiating. A Christian Burial will follow in the Northwest LA Veterans Cemetery in Keithville, LA under the direction of Labby Memorial Funeral Home of Leesville.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm – 9:00 pm, Sunday, September 19, 2010 at the funeral home, with a rosary being recited at 7:00 pm.
Sandra, the daughter of Eldon J. and Ida M. Cronan Allain was born on December 30, 1940 in Kinder, Louisiana. She passed away on Thursday, September 16, 2010 at her residence in Slagle, LA. She graduated from Sulphur High School; attended McNeese State University and the Hotel Dieu Nursing School in New Orleans. She was a Lay Eucharistic Minister of the Catholic Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, James Allain & Chris Allain.
She is survived by husband Jim Hopewell of Slagle; daughters, Mellanie Hopewell McGuire & husband, Stephen of Gambrills, MD, Angela Hopewell Schraven & husband, John of Anacoco, Katherine Hopewell Buck & husband, Jesse, Jr., of Slagle, & Ginger Hopewell of Slagle; brothers, Gerald Allain of DeQuincy & Jeff Allain of Sulphur; grandchildren, Alexandra McGuire, Matthew McGuire, Hailey Crockett, Jamie Schraven, Hillary Schraven, Ben Holten & Kayleigh Fowler; step-grandchildren, Brad Schraven, David Schraven, Krystal Schraven, Jebbo Buck and Kasey Buck.
