Salvadore Francis Deguara's Obituary
Salvadore Francis Deguara, a beloved husband, father, brother, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on November 24, 2024, in Alexandria LA. Born on May 14, 1946, in San Francisco, California to Gerolamo Joseph and Angelina Marie Deguara. Salvadore lived a life rich with love and adventure.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 57 years, Etheldean Haymon Deguara of Alexandria, LA; their son Dean Deguara and his wife Amy of Sacramento, CA; their daughter Robin Deguara of Hutto, TX; as well as two cherished grandchildren: Josiah Deguara and his wife Ashton of Gold River, CA and Mariah Deguara of Sacramento, CA. He was passionate about his family—he took immense joy in watching them grow up and excel in sports and their careers.
A proud veteran who served honorably in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War. Sal had a heart for his community and was the co-founder of Fremont BMX Raceway influencing thousands of kids and their families.
Salvadore was a truck driver for over 30 years, an avid collector of vintage automobiles and memorabilia. He loved attending car shows and swap meets with friends.
Preceded in death by his parents Gerolamo Joseph and Angelina Marie Deguara as well as brother Peter Deguara—Salvadore leaves behind many memories and great stories of growing up in the SF Bay Area
Graveside services will be held on Monday, December 2nd at Central Louisiana Veterans Cemetery located in Leesville under the direction of Labby Memorial Funeral Home.
Visitation will be held on Monday, December 2nd from 9:00 A.M. until 9:30 A.M. at Labby Memorial Funeral Home in Leesville.
