Sallie Lindsay's Obituary
Funeral services for Sallie Lindsay, 67, of DeRidder, LA, will be held 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, August 5, 2023 in the Labby Memorial Funeral in DeRidder. Burial will follow at the Barentine Cemetery in Longville, LA under the direction of Labby Memorial Funeral Home of DeRidder.
Visitation will be Saturday, August 5, 2023 from10:00 A.M- 2:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
Sallie was born on February 11, 1956 in Jennings, LA to her parents, Homer & Gertrude Landry Pickles. She passed away on Friday, July 28, 2023 in DeRidder, LA.
Sallie was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church in Longville. In December of 2022, she retired from the Beauregard District Attorney’s Office after serving there for over 25 years. She enjoyed gardening and loved plants and flowers. Above all, Sallie loved spending time with her family, especially making memories with her grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents: Homer & Gertrude Pickles; sister & brother in-law: Glenda & Tim Sawyer.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband: John Lindsay of DeRidder, LA; sons: Kris Lindsay & wife Katherine of Baton Rouge, LA, Jeremy Lindsay of Baton Rouge, LA, Patrick Lindsay & wife Emily of Pasadena, TX; brothers: George Pickles & wife Marilyn of Lacassine, LA, Tommy Pickles & wife Paula of Longville, LA, Homer “Jr.” Pickles of Dallas, TX; sisters: Rosie Kolarik & husband Hank of Dry Creek, LA, Anna Theriot & husband Martin of Leonville, LA; grandkids: Camille Lindsay, Charles Lindsay, Mary Claire Lindsay.
